Maybelline Fit Me Foundation Review

I decided to branch out recently and try a new foundation, which is something I literally NEVER do anymore. I've been using Revlon Colourstay since year 11 in high school, which was almost 5 years ago! I used to struggle so much to find a decent foundation, so when I discovered Colourstay it pretty much became my holy grail makeup item. I'm not sure exactly why I chose Maybelline's Fit Me foundation, but I have to say, I'm slightly disappointed with it.

I chose the shade 120 Classic Ivory which is the second lightest shade this foundation comes in. It matches my skin colour fairly well and has yellow-ish undertones which I think suits my skin tone (my only issue with Colourstay is that the shade I'm currently using has pink undertones).

The consistency is similar to Colourstay, but slightly thinner and gives light to medium coverage. The foundation blends nicely, I used it with my ELF powder brush, but to cover any blemishes or under eye circles you would definitely need a good concealer. It also has quite a strong fragrance (a mix between floral and sunscreen? Hmmm) probably not suitable for those with sensitive skin.

Once applied it leaves a satin finish on the skin, not overly matte and slightly dewy. Very nice.
My main problem with this foundation comes about two and a half hours after application, when my forehead, nose and chin start to shimmer like a disco ball, and not in a good way. I'm not sure if it's just my skin type (which I wouldn't categorise as oily, although I can get a little bit shiny on my t-zone) but this foundation makes my skin look super greasy. Using a good powder is an absolute necessity with this foundation, as well as using it to touch up every few hours (honestly, who can be bothered?!)

Unfortunately I would only recommend this if you have very dry skin, or have the time and patience to be checking yourself in the mirror every hour or so. If only this foundation stayed looking as lovely as it does when first applied! :(

Have you tried Maybelline's Fit Me foundation? What did you think?

Runt

I'm so obsessed with white shoes and chunky platforms at the moment, and these heels from Windsor Smith incorporate both of those.  Loving the deep tread in the sole and the ankle strap. These would look so amazing with a cute party dress and a tan. And if you can't be bothered trying to keep them in pristine condition, they also come in black.
