My Favourite Sprays for Beachy Waves

If I'm completely honest, since I cut my hair short recently I've been seriously missing my long locks. There were so many different ways I could style my hair when it was long that just don't work with shorter hair. Despite my frustration I've started experimenting with some different techniques and products to try and achieve some new styles which work on my short hair and I'm happy to say, I've found some good ones! My favourite way of styling my short hair is in relaxed, messy waves that I create by curling my hair with a straightener which leaves more natural looking waves than when I use a curling iron. I love styling my hair this way because unfortunately I have not been blessed with naturally thick, voluminous hair. Creating these beachy waves adds texture and fullness to my usually flat hair.

Now, finally, heres where the products come in!

I've noticed now that my hair is shorter curls don't last as long as they used to, so I've been loving using products which add both texture and a bit of hold to my hair. The Goldwell Naturally Full  Wet & Dry Bodifying Spray* is fantastic because is has a light hold, so it doesn't leave my hair feeling crispy. It helps the waves last longer and I love spraying it throughout my hair to add even more texture and volume. A similar product is the Umberto Giannini Backcomb In A Bottle, which I mentioned recently in my July Favourites. This product is amazing for adding volume, I like to lift up sections of hair, spray it at the roots (but not too close, this can get greasy if you're not careful!) and then scrunch my hair up a bit to create some messy-ness.

As far as sea salt sprays go, one which I absolutely love is the Toni & Guy Sea Salt Texturising Spray. This is one of my favourites because it doesn't leave a sticky residue and dries without making my hair feel crunchy. I like scrunching this in after I've curled my hair because its really great at creating that 'piece-y' texture and keeps my waves a bit more separated. And it smells great BTW. Lastly, I want to mention the Edgy Bodifi Volumising Spray because this was one of my favourite products to use in my hair when it was longer. Unfortunately now that my hair is short it seems to make my hair look a lot more oily, even when my hair was long I used it very sparingly. If you have long hair this is an amazing product, super volumising and thickening. I love spraying it through my hair while its still damp and then blow drying it upside down, the volume it creates is incredible! I also love it because it gives me 'second-day' hair on the first day, which means my hair isn't so squeaky clean and much easier to style.

Let me know what your favourite texturising/volumising products are!
