Guess who's back...

FINALLY! It's been much longer than I anticipated (really, over a month already?!) but I'm now settled in my new place with working internet and at least some sort of daily routine, which is still a work in progress but I'm getting there! So here's my explanation of why I have been MIA this past month. I'll try to keep it brief!

As I mentioned in my previous post, the Uni session was just finishing up meaning that I was snowed under with assignments (four due on the same day to be exact!). Not only did I have 3 essays to write but I also had to complete my digital media project which was a fully functional website written entirely in HTML and CSS. Now, to say that I've never been so stressed out about an assignment before is an understatement. Essays are never an issue for me, I can churn them out fairly easily (not to toot my own horn) but I have never experienced frustration on the level which I did trying to write HTML. Despite all that, I'm happy to say that I completed my website and I'm extremely proud of the result. Understanding HTML and CSS is a massive part of my degree, so I'll most probably be taking more advanced subjects on them in the future.

University aside, I also moved out of home this month, all the way from the Illawarra to Melbourne! This was probably one of the most difficult decisions I've ever had to make but it was a necessary one. A 10 hour drive later and I've moved in with my boyfriend who recently started a job here. Other than missing my family and friends I am extremely happy to be here, I never felt attached to the city which was my 'home' and I always imagined myself moving elsewhere. Leaving my Mum was probably the hardest part of this whole process. We are extremely close and I consider her my best friend, not seeing her everyday has been a massive adjustment to make. But I'm 22 years old (almost 23, ugh) and I figured I needed to start acting like a grown up sooner or later, even though I definitely don't feel like one!

Oh, and it also took a while for us to get the internet hooked up at our apartment but now it's up and running, so you can expect much more consistent posts! I am very excited about that :)

Anyway, I think that about sums it all up. Thank you so SO much for sticking with me and for everyone who has just started following me, I really appreciate it.
